SUBJECT / RECOMMENDATIONS
Approve the Agreement for Technical Services with American Printing House for the Blind, Inc. for Services to Florida Instructional Materials Center for the Visually Impaired (FIMC-VI) (Academic Support and Federal Programs)
EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
We request approval of the Agreement for Technical Services with American Printing House for the Blind, Inc. to provide proofreading services for the braille versions of the Florida Standards Assessments of Algebra 1 and Geometry in Unified English Braille Technical.  A synopsis of services is provided in Attachment A. Since 1972, The Florida Department of Education/Bureau of Exceptional Education and Student Services has continued to support FIMC-VI with federal IDEA/Part B, IDEA Trust and State General Revenue appropriations to meet the instructional needs of Florida’s students with visual impairments.  As defined by Florida Statute 1003.55, FIMC-VI will produce, procure, distribute, recirculate, and house specialized materials including statewide assessments for students who are blind or visually impaired.  Hillsborough County Public Schools has served as the FIMC-VI headquarters for 47 years.

FINANCIAL IMPACT (Budgeted:  Yes)
Funds in the amount of $36,855 will be available in the divisional special revenue/federal programs budget.  For tracking purposes, the project number specific to this agenda item is 3803.
EVALUATION
Performance evaluation measures are determined and monitored by the Florida Department of Education.
