SUBJECT / RECOMMENDATIONS
Approve the Agreement for Technical Services #19131-ATS-IV with Gering Consulting, LLC (Office of Diversity)
EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
Gering Consulting, LLC, in collaboration with the Office of Diversity will provide high-level professional development for the Board and the senior leadership team to continue the work related to the Racial Equity Policy 2260.03.  Objectives and activities for the professional development include: 
  • Facilitating continuation and deepening of racial equity conversations among the Board and senior leadership (facilitate face-to-face training, develop agendas, create materials, and generate actions to support implementation of the Racial Equity Policy planning with the Board Chair, Administration, the Chief Diversity Officer, and the Coordinator of Diversity from August 2019 to February 2020).
  • Collaborating with the Chief Diversity Officer on designing actions to effectively leverage the District's Racial Equity Policy (planning to include three site visits, develop a system of monitoring and feedback, and thought partnering around challenges).
  • Providing coaching for District Leadership in planning and follow through on actualizing the Racial Equity Policy (identify four key leaders for coaching in collaboration with the Superintendent, and thought partnering around challenges and accountability on next steps).

FINANCIAL IMPACT (Budgeted:  Yes)
Funds in the amount of $37,600 will be available in the Title II grant. For tracking purposes, the project number specific to this agenda item is 3788. As of July 3, 2019, the remaining balance less encumbrances for this line item equaled $37,600.
EVALUATION
At the conclusion of each training session, the Board and senior leadership will complete a course evaluation that will allow the Board, Administration and the Office of Diversity to evaluate the effectiveness of the training.  The results of the evaluation will be used to plan effectively for future training for the Board and senior leadership in the areas of diversity, equity, and inclusion.
