SUBJECT / RECOMMENDATIONS
Approve the Agreement for Technical Services #19120-ATS-IV with the University of South Florida, Office of Corporate Training and Professional Education and the School Board of Hillsborough County, Florida for the Lean Six Sigma Green Belt Certification Program (Deputy Superintendent, Operations)
EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
The Certified Lean Six Sigma Green Belt program is designed to facilitate learning in the Lean Six Sigma Methodologies. The program is for professionals who both lead or support improvement projects, typically as a part-time role. The Lean Six Sigma Green Belt participants will gain a thorough understanding of all aspects within the phases of Define, Measure, Analyze, Improve, Control. They will understand how to perform and interpret Six Sigma tools and how to use standard principles of Lean. The program is designed to facilitate learning through reading, in class exercises, and the completion of a final project pertaining to a current business issue. Participants will provide their leadership with reviews throughout the project and be required to present and obtain leadership approval and sign off at the completion of the project.

Funding in the amount of $22,500 will be available in the Deputy Superintendent, Operations divisional budget. For tracking purposes, the project number specific to this agenda item is 3367. As of July 5, 2019, the remaining balance less encumbrances for this line item equaled $22,500.
