SUBJECT / RECOMMENDATIONS
Approve the Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) Between the Boy Scouts of America Greater Tampa Bay Area Council (BSATB) and the School Board of Hillsborough County, Florida (Chief of Schools)
EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
This MOA establishes the respective roles and responsibilities regarding the implementation and operation of BSATB youth development programs.  The BSATB began locally in 1918.  As a leadership development organization that supports boys and girls in grades K-12, the program’s mission is to prepare young people to make ethical and moral choices over their lifetime by instilling the values of the Scout Oath and Law.  In Hillsborough County, BSATB currently has 7,490 youth members and 2,260 adult members. 

The Greater Tampa Bay Area Council is one of the local councils in western Florida chartered by the Boy Scouts of America.  The council encompasses nine counties and serves more than 15,000 youth in 189 Cub Scout packs, 192 Boy Scout and Varsity Scout troops, 36 Venturing Crews and 5 Sea Scout ships in addition to the Lewis Hill, III Service Center located at 13228 N. Central Ave, Tampa.

• Engage and communicate with families and stakeholders • Establish a strong foundation of financial stewardship • Demonstrate "best practices" in all aspects of safety: student, employee, visitor, facility, transportation, and health
FINANCIAL IMPACT (Budgeted:  No)
The School Board does not charge this organization a rental fee for use of school facilities.  They are required to carry liability insurance to cover the use of our facilities.  The School Board will be held harmless from liability and listed as "additional insured" on the insurance policy.
