SUBJECT / RECOMMENDATIONS
Adoption of Proclamation - Fortify Florida App (Office of Security and Emergency Management - Operations Division)
EXECUTIVE SUMMARY | |
The Marjory Stoneman Douglas Public Safety Act in SB 7026 introduced the use of an anonymous threat reporting application to be made available for use by all Florida school districts. This platform is Fortify Florida. The subsequent adoption and modification of SB 7030 by the Florida Legislature made changes to s. 943.082, F.S., School Safety Awareness Program. It now requires school boards to promote Fortify Florida as the primary threat reporting app by advertising it on the school district's website, in newsletters, on school campuses, in school publications, and by installing it on all mobile devices issued to students and by bookmarking the website on all computer devices issued to students. |
