Recognition of Casterdell (Cass) Hanford Receiving the P.R.I.S.M (Proactive, Relational, Integrity, Safety, and Motivation) Award (Communications)
EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
The School Board has identified five core values that guide students and staff: being Proactive, serving in a Relational way, having Integrity, prioritizing Safety, and leading with motivation. In order to highlight the members of our school community who are demonstrating these values in their daily lives and interactions with others, Superintendent Jeff Eakins has created the PRISM Award. Castrdell embodies the core values of a PRISM Award recipient. Cass Handford teaches at Bryan Elementary School and spends his time with students from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. every Friday—running an after school athletic program to improve health, wellness and keep students engaged by providing mentorship and coaching. He also created an incentive program which has tremendously improved behavior and academics performance. He is a true leader in the school and community.
