Approve Safe and Sound Hillsborough Interlocal Agreement (Chief of Schools)
EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
As a result of the joint Violence Prevention Collaborative, the following agencies are entering into an Interlocal Agreement to work toward a Safe and Sound Hillsborough: 

City of Plant City 
City of Tampa
City of Temple Terrace
Hillsborough County 
Hillsborough County Public Defender 
Hillsborough County School Board 
Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office 
Office of the State Attorney for the Thirteenth Judicial Circuit of Florida 
Thirteenth Judicial Circuit Court of Hillsborough County 
Children's Board of Hillsborough County 
 
Various agencies have either provided in-kind services or monetary contributions.  This agreement shall be effective upon execution by all parties and shall expire on September 30, 2019, unless terminated in accordance with this agreement.  Note that there are no signatures on the agreement.  Once all participating agencies have approved and signed the agreement, the County Commission will execute and provide each agency with a copy.  This is part of a continuation of support that began on September 9, 2014, when the School Board approved the amount of $5,000 annually to be budgeted from non-recurring funds over a 5-year period. 

STRATEGIC OBJECTIVES
• Demonstrate "best practices" in all aspects of safety: student, employee, visitor, facility, transportation, and health
FINANCIAL IMPACT (Budgeted:  Yes)
Funds in the amount of $5,000 will be available in the Safe and Sound project over the next five-year period through September 2024.
