SUBJECT / RECOMMENDATIONS
Approve the Multi-Year Interlocal Agreement with Hillsborough County, Florida for Funding Eligible Students in Career, Technical, and Adult Education (CTAE) Programs for 2019/2020 and the Subsequent Year (Workforce Connections)
EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
Hillsborough County Social Services will provide eligible residents of Hillsborough County who enroll in Hillsborough County Public Schools, CTAE programs with funding to enter and complete Adult Education, Career Technical College, Postsecondary Vocational, and Industry Certification courses. This also includes tools, certifications and any other academic activities that can improve the student’s ability to enter the workforce and become a self-sufficient county resident Hillsborough County, Florida requires the School Board of Hillsborough County, Florida to be the first signature on the Interlocal Agreement.

• Improve the high school graduation rate • Engage and communicate with families and stakeholders • Continuously improve processes and systems • Demonstrate "best practices" in all aspects of safety: student, employee, visitor, facility, transportation, and health
FINANCIAL IMPACT (Budgeted:  Yes)
There is financial impact to the school district.  Hillsborough County Social Services will provide CTAE with up to $800,000 annually in financial aid in the form of tuitions, fees, and educational expenses for eligible students based on their income and residency.
EVALUATION
A program performance report will be completed each semester or after each vocational training block and submitted quarterly. Success indicators or program deliverables have been established and will be submitted annually by August 31, 2019.  Reports must include, but are not limited to a program summary, notable accomplishments, success stories, and program outcomes.
