Approve the Affiliation Agreement with the University of South Florida to Allow Students to Serve as Final Interns in the District (Human Resources) | |
EXECUTIVE SUMMARY | |
Hillsborough County Public Schools currently accepts interns from approximately fifty (50) approved institutions throughout the country. Students typically participate in a 12-week internship program in their final semester prior to graduation. During final internships, College of Education students are provided the opportunity to design standard-based lessons, and deliver instruction with the guidance and support of a collaborating teacher. All collaborating teachers meet both state and district-level eligibility requirements. | |

EVALUATION | |
Currently Hillsborough County Public Schools hosts approximately 600-700 student interns per academic year with the majority of final interns placed in Hillsborough County Public Schools hired as instructional employees upon successful completion of their internship and receipt of bachelor’s degree. | |
