EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
GEAR UP Project Score is a federally funded grant available to all 11th and 12th grade students at East Bay and Spoto High Schools.  The 2019-20 GEAR UP EXCELerated Summer Program was designed to offer opportunities for all of the cohort students to participate in a program that will support them in meeting their graduation requirements as well as to increase life and leadership skills.  Our GEAR UP team worked together with partners including Hillsborough Community College to offer summer dual enrollment classes; the University of South Florida to offer a college residential camp; and Career and Technical Education to offer students an opportunity to earn school credits.  Students attended a leadership camp in San Francisco with 200 students from across the country.  The summit was hosted by the National Council for Community and Education Partnerships.  Students participated in a financial literacy workshop named "Life Fast Forward" organized by Suncoast Credit Union.  Students participated in grade recovery and a host of field trips that gave them opportunities to give back to their community by feeding the homeless as well as visit college campuses. Our students' dedication and participation in the GEAR UP EXCELerated camp reached across the Tampa Bay area as they increased their leadership and life skills during classes and workshops throughout the summer.
