Approve the District Five Year Audit Plan - Current and Long Range (District Auditing Office)
EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
On May 6, 2003, the District Audit Committee recommended that every five years a district audit plan be submitted for Board approval. Recent Statutory revisions in Chapter 1001.42, effective July 1, 2019, further strengthened our District Audit Committee recommendation. This recommendation provides the plan for 2020 through 2024. The District Auditing Office is responsible for performing audits that include planned rotational audits, analyses as requested by management, and special requested audits. Audit plans were developed using the best management practices as identified by the Office of program Policy and Government Analysis, including management surveys, trend analysis and risk assessment to help ensure fiscal responsibility throughout the district. Over the past four years audit processes have been made ore rigorous in order to detect violations of internal controls. These include site audits of purchasing card transactions, payroll documentation, and non-sufficient fund check reconciliations.

These audits are budgeted as part of the District Auditing Office's General Fund budget.
