Approve the Affiliation Agreement with Southeastern University to Allow Students to Serve as Final Interns in the District (Human Resources) | |
EXECUTIVE SUMMARY | |
Hillsborough County Public Schools currently accepts interns from approximately fifty (50) approved institutions throughout the country. Students typically participate in a 12-week internship program in their final semester prior to graduation. During final internships, College of Education students are provided the opportunity to design standard-based lessons, and deliver instruction with the guidance and support of a collaborating teacher. All collaborating teachers meet both state and district-level eligibility requirements. | |

EVALUATION | |
Hillsborough County Public Schools hosts approximately 600-700 student interns per academic year with the majority of final interns hired as instructional employees upon successful completion of their internship and receipt of bachelor's degree. | |
