SUBJECT / RECOMMENDATIONS
Approve the Educational Leadership Program agreement between the University of West Florida (UWF) and Hillsborough County Public Schools (HCPS) (Office of Leadership, Professional Development and School Transformation)
EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
The Office of Leadership, Professional Development and School Transformation has partnered with UWF. In 2018, the University completed a self study quality measures review of their graduate programs as requested by HCPS.  As a result, the program was selected as one of HCPS partner providers.  In an effort to strengthen this partnership, UWF would like to enter into an agreement with HCPS to establish a cohort of candidates who are instructional experts and demonstrate leadership potential. The candidates will be recruited and selected by the UWF staff, then approved by the Assistant Superintendent, of Leadership, Professional Development and School Transformation or the Director of Leadership Development.  The Educational Leadership Program through the UWF is approved by the Florida Department of Education and is designed for candidates who have a minimum of three years of successful teaching experience and wish to prepare for future site based administrative positions.
STRATEGIC OBJECTIVES
• Improve the high school graduation rate • Provide a student-centered learning environment that engages every child • Recruit, support, and retain a highly effective and diverse workforce
FINANCIAL IMPACT (Budgeted:  No)
There will be no financial impact associated with this agreement.
EVALUATION
Teachers interested in the program will go through a rigorous competitive selection process.  Tracking and performance evaluation of cohort members will be key in determining the program’s success.
