SUBJECT / RECOMMENDATIONS
Approve the Contract for Literacy Leadership Technology Academy South Bay (Charter Office)
EXECUTIVE SUMMARY | |
Charter School legislation, 1002.33 F.S., permits individuals, organizations, and community members the opportunity to submit an application to the Board for the creation of a charter school. On August 20, 2019, the Board approved the application for Literacy Leadership Technology Academy South Bay. The school will serve students in grades K-8 using a research-based, Florida Standards model that uses The Leader In Me and Marzano methodologies, along with Google Classroom, for a fully integrated learning experience for the students. A copy of the proposed 10-year contract for the school is attached. The original charter application approved by the Board will become Appendix I of this contract, and will be available for review in the Charter School Office. In the event of a discrepancy between the contract and the charter application, the terms of the contract will prevail. Literacy Leadership Technology Academy South Bay has agreed to all terms of the contract, which has been revised to include the most recent revisions to 1002.33, F.S. A copy of the application review summary is attached indicating where weaknesses are addressed in the contract. |
