Approve Memorandum of Understanding Between the School Board of Hillsborough County, Florida and Florida Prepaid College Board (Communications)
EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
Hillsborough County Public Schools was chosen to receive two scholarships from the Florida Prepaid College Board.  In return for the scholarships, Florida Prepaid has asked us to promote the scholarships and their mission to help Floridians to save for college. Working with Florida Prepaid, we have designed two scholarships that will help advance two of our district’s needs. The two-year scholarship, valued at $8,000, will be awarded to a high school senior who wishes to pursue a career as a teacher specializing in STEM subjects. The $1,000 scholarship will be awarded to a student whose family member or guardian has attended a Kindergarten Countdown event or who has started the registration process to attend kindergarten by April 30, 2020, for the 2020-2021 school year.
