Approve the Agreement for Technical Services #20012-ATS-IV with TUF Life Skills LLC for Chamberlain High School (Leadership, Professional Development, and School Transformation)
EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
TUF Life Skills is a program focusing on social emotional learning.  It is designed to support the development of students at risk.  The program specifically focuses on character traits that teach students to persevere through challenges.  TUF Life Skills will be the focus on the work of the behavior team at Chamberlain High School as they continue to intervene with targeted students to increase graduation rates. The Chamberlain High School staff will implement the online courses with students that have a history of attendance and discipline issues. The behavior team will also utilize within In School Suspension.

Funds in the amount of $25,500 will be available in the TSSA Grant.
EVALUATION
TUF Life Skills has been used in several Achievement Schools focusing on middle and high school aged at risk students.  Chamberlain High School staff has initiated a very comprehensive discipline plan and this powerful resource will be used to encourage positive trends in attendance, behavior, and academics.  Chamberlain has increased their school grade over the last two years from a D to a C.  Their graduation rates have also continued to rise over the last two years.  Chamberlain will look at increasing key performance indicators in attendance and behavior as they initiate the program.

Overall attendance data in 2018/2019 was 67 percent of students attending school 90 percent of the time.  TUF curriculum connects students to school. The goal for this program is to increase attendance to 72 percent of students attending school 90 percent of the time.  This would be a 5 percent increase in the 2019/2020 school year.

85 percent of students had 0 suspensions in 2018/2019.  The goal is to increase this number to 90 percent of students having 0 suspensions in 2019/2020.

TUF curriculum has shown the following data in the schools they serve:
-83 percent gain in academic performance
-23 percent gain in school behaviors
-10 percent reduction in depression and anxiety
-Decrease in substance abuse, criminal behavior and bullying
-Improvement in relationships between students, teachers, and parents
