SUBJECT / RECOMMENDATIONS
Approve the Agreement for Technical Services #20036-ATS-IV with Certification Partners, LLC to Provide Professional Development for Industry Certifications (Workforce Connections)
EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
Certification Partners, LLC is the provider of the Certified Internet Web (CIW) Professional Certification Program and the Internet and Communication Technology (ICT) Essentials certification program. CIW and ICT certifications are included on the CAPE Industry Certification Funding List. This Agreement for Technical Services is being requested so that Certification Partners can provide up to five 16-hour professional development sessions for approximately 100 teachers to become well versed in this curriculum, and best prepare their students to become certified in various industry certifications offered by this organization.
STRATEGIC OBJECTIVES
• Improve the high school graduation rate • Provide a student-centered learning environment that engages every child
FINANCIAL IMPACT (Budgeted:  Yes)
Funds in the amount of $25,000 are projected to be available in the Computer Science Certification Grant. For tracking purposes, the project number specific to this agenda is 3763.
EVALUATION
This initiative will be evaluated by the number of instructors who attend these professional development sessions, the number of instructors who earn additional CIW and ICT industry certifications, and the number of students who earn additional CIW and ICT industry certifications from these instructors.
