SUBJECT / RECOMMENDATIONS
Approve the Memorandum of Agreement Between the Boys and Girls Clubs of Tampa Bay, Inc. (BGC) and The School Board of Hillsborough County, Florida (HCPS) to Provide Before School, After School, and Summer Programs at Clair Mel Elementary, and Dowdell, Greco, Shields, and Webb Middle Schools (Academic Support and Federal Programs)
EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
The purpose of this 21st Century Community Learning Centers grant is to continue to provide a community learning center that offers academic enrichment opportunities during non-school hours. The activities are designed to help students meet state student standards in core academic subjects such as reading and math.
STRATEGIC OBJECTIVES
• Improve the high school graduation rate • Provide a student-centered learning environment that engages every child
FINANCIAL IMPACT (Budgeted:  Yes)
All costs of these services will be the responsibility of BGC. BGC is responsible for compensating all personnel employed in conjunction with the program, and for the provision of all program supplies necessary to carry out program activities. HCPS agrees to provide snacks/meals, program consultation, and free facility usage at Clair Mel Elementary, and Dowdell, Greco, Shields, and Webb Middle Schools.
EVALUATION
The funding agency requires the use of an external evaluator to access project impact. BGC contracts with an external evaluator to provide grant evaluations services. The evaluator provides a copy of the annual evaluation report and final evaluation reports to the HCPS Office of Strategy Management and to the Director of Early Childhood and After School Programs.
