SUBJECT / RECOMMENDATIONS
Approve the Agreement for Technical Services #20033-ATS-IV with Northside Behavioral Health Center, Inc. (Northside) to Provide Intervention Services for At Risk Youth at Selected Schools (Academic Support and Federal Programs)
EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
Northside will provide school-based and home-based services through a coordinated program of therapeutic and family services staffed by licensed and masters level clinicians. Services will be supervised by a Florida licensed qualified supervisor. Clinicians will be part of the school based multidisciplinary professional team and provide consultation and feedback to the team. Therapeutic services will include crisis support and intervention, case management, individual and group counseling, interpersonal skill building, behavioral planning, prevention education, and screening/assessment. Family services will include family counseling, parent training, and assistance with specific family problems. Clinicians will maintain an active caseload of 25 students and service approximately 75 children per school year. The primary referral source will be Hillsborough County Public Schools. School sites will be Forest Hills, Foster, and Shaw Elementary, and Sulphur Springs K-8 and Greco Middle Schools.

FINANCIAL IMPACT (Budgeted:  Yes)
Funds in the amount of $86,505 will be available in the Turnaround School Supplemental Services Allocation (TSSSA) fund.
EVALUATION
Northside will work in collaboration with district personnel to garner appropriate information to complete all required reporting.  Data reports will include statistical information that will indicate and/or improve the provision of the following:
  • Reduction of incidences of maltreatment reports
  • Early identification of behavioral health issues with in-school screening
  • Increase in percentages of families involved in their child's resiliency activities
  • Decrease in school absenteeism rate within each identified school
  • Reduction of juvenile crime
  • Reduction in the number of children removed from their homes
  • Decrease in the number of Baker Act initiations and admissions to crisis units.
