SUBJECT / RECOMMENDATIONS
Approve the Agreement for Technical Services #20021-ATS-IV with Tracey Uddin for SQL Server Application Analysis, Design, Development, and Documentation (Business Services Division)
EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
This ATS provides the district with a contracted resource to analyze our existing state staff reporting methods, develop new methods, and to provide documentation and mentoring to Information Technology staff for future maintenance of the process.

The Florida Department of Education (DOE) requires the school district to submit staff information to them at various times throughout the year. This ATS is needed in support of  this requirement. Our current processing methods developed over many years include the use of mainframe and other technologies that are becoming obsolete as we transition our Human Resources, Financial, Payroll and Benefits solution to Infor’s Internet hosted solution.  While the Infor product is used to maintain staff data, it does not produce the information in the formats required by the DOE.  After a comprehensive review of our options, Information Technology (IT) staff have chosen to use Microsoft’s SQL Server technology to meet these data needs.

SQL Server is one of the most popular databases in the world and more cost effective to maintain than our current solution. District IT staff are currently engaged in maintaining day to day operations of our current on premise Infor software while at the same time learning new Infor technologies and assisting with the upgrade to the hosted environment.  They do not currently possess the depth and breadth of knowledge required to accomplish this task and still meet the Infor upgrade project timelines.
