Approve 2016-2018 School Health Services Plan

EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
The 2016-2018 School Health Services Plan outlines how Hillsborough County Public Schools (HCPS) and the State of Florida, Department of Health, Hillsborough County (DOH) will meet federal and state requirements and mandates.

The submission of the 2016-2018 School Health Services Plan is required by Section 381.0056, F.S., which indicates each local Department of Health will develop jointly, with their respective school district, a School Health Services Plan that outlines the provisions and responsibilities to provide mandated health services in all public schools.  Chapter 64F-6.002, Florida Administrative Code (F.A.C.) requires the plan to be completed biannually.

It is the practice of DOH to be the final signatory on the School Health Services Plan.

STRATEGIC OBJECTIVES
• Demonstrate "best practices" in all aspects of safety: student, employee, visitor, facility, transportation, and health
FINANCIAL IMPACT (Budgeted:  No)
There is no financial impact to HCPS for the School Health Services Plan.

EVALUATION
The district submits a school health report to the DOH and Department of Education annually.  This report serves as an evaluation tool of the School Health Services Plan, collects information on the number and type of clinical services provided to students, and the distribution of funds to accomplish services outlined in the School Health Services Plan.
