| <p>Approve the Cooperative Agreement with TrueCore Behavioral Solutions, LLC (TrueCore) <em>(Climate and Culture)</em></p> | |
| EXECUTIVE SUMMARY | |
| <p>TrueCore contracts with the Department of Juvenile Justice (DJJ) to provide residential commitment programs for juveniles under the supervision of the DJJ. In Hillsborough County, TrueCore owns and operates: </p> <ul> <li>Hillsborough Girls Academy - an 18-bed facility for girls between the ages of 13 and 21 who are high-risk or maximum-risk juvenile offenders</li> <li>Lake Academy - a 48-bed facility for girls between the ages of 12 and 19 who require intensive mental health services</li> <li>Leslie Peters - a 24-bed facility for boys between the ages of 14 and 18 who are moderate-risk and in need of comprehensive mental health services</li> <li>Tampa Residential - a 60-bed facility for boys between the ages of 14 and 18 who are in need of comprehensive mental health service</li> </ul> <p>The district must provide educational services to these clients. These services are provided on-site due to the students being incarcerated.</p> | |

| <p>This program is evaluated annually by the Student Engagement Department staff based on a model developed by the Juvenile Justice Educational Enhancement Program. This review will be completed by June 30, 2020.</p> | |
