| EXECUTIVE SUMMARY | |
|
Cognia/SACS accreditation is a voluntary method of quality assurance developed more than 100 years ago by American universities and secondary schools, and designed primarily to distinguish schools and districts that meet a set of rigorous educational standards. When a school or school district achieves accreditation, parents and the community can be assured that the top priorities are increasing student achievement, providing a safe and enriching learning environment, and running an efficient operation. Students benefit from the smooth transfer of credits from school to school, eligibility for admission to post-secondary institutions, and access to grants and scholarships.

Cognia/SACS district accreditation assures that all people, processes, departments, and operations in the school district work in concert to increase student learning and organizational effectiveness. Hillsborough County Public Schools has maintained a productive relationship with Cognia/SACS since 1914, and all of our schools have been fully accredited since we achieved district accreditation in 2010.
| |
