EXECUTIVE SUMMARY |

The Community Hockey Department (CHD) of the Tampa Bay Lightning has been an active partner in developing unique opportunities for our students and families. On June 14, 2016, agenda item C6.23, the School Board of Hillsborough County, approved a Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) with the Lightning Foundation, Inc. to implement multiple educational partnerships. The attached addendum will allow the continuation of the following five programs: GUIDE the Thunder; Build the Thunder; Lightning Made Clinics; Hockey by the Numbers, and Score with Reading, all supporting the development and understanding of the fundamental aspect of hockey, increasing student achievement, and fostering teamwork skills. Research has shown that working as a team to reach a common goal helps children develop communication and problem solving skills that will benefit them on the field and in the classroom.
|
