Approve Change Order Number Three for Cooling Tower Replacements at Blake High School

On April 12, 2016, the Board approved an urgent requirement for replacement of the cooling towers and related equipment serving the HVAC cooling plant at Blake High School.  The reconciliation of direct purchases for the project requires a change order to adjust the contract amount.

Previous credits by the contractor to the District for the direct purchases significantly exceeded the amounts required.  As the resultant change order returning the excess funds to the contractor is for an amount greater than $100,000, Board approval is required.

Funds in the amount of $547,801.94 will be available in the Local Millage fund. For tracking purposes, the project number specific to this agenda item is 8597. As of Thursday, November 3, 2016, the remaining balance less encumbrances for this line item equaled $135,873.24.

The item is included in the District Capital Outlay:  Local Millage.
