| EXECUTIVE SUMMARY | |
| <p style="text-align: justify;">In order to support the growing student population in the southern Hillsborough County area, the School Board of Hillsborough County is in the process of designing the Spoto High School addition containing 500 student stations, which is scheduled to open for the 2021/2022 school year. The high school student stations at Spoto High School will assist in absorbing students within the Spoto High School boundary and potentially relieve Riverview High School. This project is reflected in the School Board’s approved 2019/2020 Five Year Facilities Work Program and in the tentative 2020/2021 Five Year Facilities Work Program.</p> <p style="text-align: justify;">The District is requesting the disbursement of <strong>$16,058,922</strong>. Based upon the State of Florida, Department of Education Student Station Cost Factor, which is calculated based upon a project’s opening date, the cost per high school student station is $33,116 per student station x 500 student stations = $16,558,000, less the proportionate share mitigation obligations of $499,078 = <strong>$16,058,922</strong>, which is the disbursement we are requesting at this time. Upon completion and final close-out of the project, an accounting will be provided to Hillsborough County to document all qualifying expenditures. </p> | |
