Approve Resolution 20-09 for Impact Fee Fund Disbursement from the Hillsborough County Board of County Commissioners for Site Acquisition, Construction and Construction Management of the Addition at Wimauma Elementary School, Located at 5709 Hickman Street, Wimauma, Florida (Operations Division)
EXECUTIVE SUMMARY |

In order to support the growing student population in the southern Hillsborough County area, the School Board of Hillsborough County is in the process of designing the Wimauma Elementary School addition containing 306 student stations, which is scheduled to open for the 2021/2022 school year. The elementary school student stations at Wimauma Elementary School will assist in absorbing students within the Wimauma Elementary School boundary and potentially relieve Reddick Elementary School. This project is reflected in the School Board’s approved 2019/2020 Five Year Facilities Work Program and in the tentative 2020/2021 Five Year Facilities Work Program.

The District is requesting the disbursement of $7,224,354. Based upon the State of Florida, Department of Education Student Station Cost Factor, which is calculated based upon a project’s opening date, the cost per elementary school student station is $23,609 per student station x 306 student stations = $7,224,354, which is the disbursement we are requesting at this time. Upon completion and final close-out of the project, an accounting will be provided to Hillsborough County to document all qualifying expenditures.
