Approve Grant Application to the Florida Department of Education (FLDOE), and if Approved, Accept Funds for the Severe Emotionally Disturbed Network (SEDNET) Project and Approve the Memorandum of Understanding for Success 4 Kids and Families, 2017/2018 (Educational Access, Opportunity, and Alternatives Division)
As the fiscal agent of the SEDNET Project, the district will enhance the system of care for students with Emotional/Behavioral Disabilities (E/BD) and their families through the participation of project activities.  In partnership with Success 4 Kids and Families, comprehensive services provided will include the coordination of educational, therapeutic, and social supports (see attached Memorandum of Understanding).

Since its inception in 1984, the FLDOE and the district joined together as a multi-agency network for students with E/BD devoted to facilitating a comprehensive “system of care” for high-risk students with E/BD and their families through the SEDNET Project.

• Improve the high school graduation rate • Provide a student-centered learning environment that engages every child • Engage and communicate with families and stakeholders
If approved, grant funds of approximately $128,000 will be included in the divisional special revenue/federal programs grant, SEDNET.  For tracking purposes, the project numbers specific to this agenda item are 3362, 3379 and 3404.
Performance evaluation measures are determined by the FLDOE, Bureau of Exceptional Education and Student Services.
