Approve the Agreement for Technical Services between National Inventors Hall of Fame for the Purchase of Camp Invention and Invention Playground Program for the Migrant Education Program (MEP) Extended School Year (ESY) Program (Academic Support and Federal Programs Division) | |
EXECUTIVE SUMMARY | |
The MEP ESY program is designed to provide supplemental academic and enrichment opportunities for identified migrant students in grades Pre-K – 5, who do not qualify for other district summer programs. A budget amendment was approved by the Florida Department of Education (FLDOE) to repurpose funds for the purchase of Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics materials to support this ESY program at Bailey, Cypress Creek, Dover, Reddick, Ruskin, Thompson, Trapnell, and Valrico elementary schools. | |

Funds in the amount of $29,800.00 will be available in the Title I Part C budget. For tracking purposes, the project number specific to this agenda item is 3107. | |
EVALUATION | |
Program evaluation includes program enrollment, daily attendance, and student assessment data on pre-test and post-test. In addition, the FLDOE will receive an evaluation at the end of the program to be included in their Summer Program Planning template. | |
