|Approve Donation of Bus 3078 to the "Children's Board of Hillsborough County" (Business Services Division)|
|The Children's Board of Hillsborough County is one of eight Children's Services Councils in the State of Florida, established by a county commission through a local ordinance. Essentially, the Children's Board serves as a center for child advocacy in Hillsborough County and supports such organizations as the Boys & Girls Clubs, Healthy Start Coalitions, Big Brothers/Big Sisters and other organizations that serve children and families in the community. They are governed by ten local board members; five are appointed by the Governor and five serve by the office they hold, which includes our superintendent, Jeff Eakins and Board member Sally Harris.
Per Statute 274, the Board may donate surplus assets to other governmental agencies.
