Approve Contract Renewal for Florida Autism Center of Excellence (Chief of Schools)
Charter legislation includes a provision for the renewal of a charter contract for those schools that have successfully completed their contract term.  The district's process for contract renewal consideration includes the submission of a letter of intent to renew the contract, a comprehensive program review, an update of the charter application, and the development of a new contract.

Consistent with established procedures, a district review team assessed the school's performance relevant to student achievement, finance, governance, administration, curriculum and instruction, and assessment.

Attached is a school profile (Attachment I) and a report of the review teams' findings and recommendations (Attachment II).  Staff recommends approval of a five-year contract for Florida Autism Center of Excellence (Attachment III).  The application update, an original document including a five-year budget submitted by Florida Autism Center of Excellence, is Appendix I of the contract and is available for review in the Charter School Office.
All Strategic Objectives
The charter school's projected enrollment of 120 students will generate $2,009,870 in FEFP (Part I) funds.  The school district retains a 5 percent administrative fee for up to and including 250 students ($36,295) of FEFP funds to offset services provided by the district.  The school also receives approximately $37,939 capital outlay funds from the Florida Department of Education.  Costs associated with the development of the contract include district staff time and attorney fees.
A contract renewal review will be completed prior to the contract end of June 30, 2022.
