Approve the Agreements of Understanding with the Community Based Training (CBT) Sites for Students with Disabilities [Weinberg Village Assisted Living Residences and Stone Ledge Manor] for 2016/2017 and 2017/2018 (Student Services Division) | |
EXECUTIVE SUMMARY | |
We request approval for the Agreements of Understanding with the CBT sites, Weinberg Village Assisted Living Residences and Stone Ledge Manor, to provide valuable training experiences for qualifying students with disabilities. Upon receipt of training in entry-level positions at a variety of businesses in the community, participating students are better prepared to successfully enter the workforce. During the 2016/2017 and 2017/2018 school years under these 2-year Agreements of Understanding an estimated number of 48 students with disabilities will receive training opportunities. | |

Funds in the amount of $75,000 will be available in the divisional special revenue/federal programs budget, Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA), for transporting students to and from the business sites in 2016/2017. For tracking purposes, the project number specific to this agenda item is 3131. | |
