Approve Agreement for Technical Services Between Military Child Education Coalition (MCEC) and the School Board of Hillsborough County, Florida for Supporting Military Children Through School Transitions Training at Tinker K-8 Under the Project SALUTE (Supporting All Learners & Uniting to Excel) Grant (Chief of Schools)
Tinker K-8 School was awarded a five-year grant funded by the Department of Defense Education Activity (DoDEA).  The goal of the grant is to increase the level of social-emotional well-being of military-dependent students in Tinker K-8.  Implementation of programs such as Supporting Military Children Through School Transitions training will provide the necessary support to the school.  The face-to-face training will be conducted by MCEC trainers who are experienced in youth development, education, counseling, and social work.

Funds in the amount of $16,000.00 will be available in the Project SALUTE grant. For tracking purposes, the project number specific to this agenda item is 3318. As of Thursday, June 1, 2017, the remaining balance less encumbrances for this line item equaled $24,000.00.
Hillsborough County Public Schools (HCPS) will collect and provide assessment data to an outside evaluator for the grant.  The outside evaluator will provide a copy of the annual evaluation report to the HCPS Office of Assessment and Accountability.
