|Approve Construction Documents and Guaranteed Maximum Price for Kitchen Renovations at Multiple Sites|
Student Nutrition Services identified funding to upgrade serving lines and/or cooler freezers at 80 sites (schools projected to receive a serving line or freezer-cooler replacement are identified in the attachment). On October 8, 2013, the Board appointed Rowe Architects Incorporated and The Beck Group to provide design and construction management services, and subsequently authorized the early acquisition of equipment with long delivery lead times in advance of establishment of a guaranteed maximum price (GMP). This allowed fabrication of the equipment to commence while site-specific installation and remodeling documents were completed and a GMP was prepared and approved.
Equipment installation and related remodeling was accomplished in phases. Sites were divided geographically into five groups for installation. Site-specific construction documents were completed and a GMP established for all sites.
The design professional has certified that the work is complete in accordance with the plans and specifications and other contract documents and recommends Board Acceptance.

Funds in the amount of $16,937,173.20 will be available in the Student Nutrition Services fund. For tracking purposes, the project number specific to this agenda item is 9108/9109. As of Tuesday, June 6, 2017, the remaining balance less encumbrances for this line item equaled $1,687,205.88.
