C6.34 - Approve the Contract with AMIkids - YES (Workforce Connections)
AMIkids - YES provides a 240-day residential dropout prevention program for 30 boys who are adjudicated delinquent by the courts and under the supervision of the Department of Juvenile Justice. AMIkids - YES provides the facility and the personnel for the educational program, with support and oversight by Hillsborough County Public Schools Youth Services Program. Hillsborough County Public Schools is required to pay private providers like AMIkids - YES 90 percent of all full-time equivalent revenue earned and provide access to all applicable categorical funds. Additional funds have been provided through Specific Appropriation 86 with a supplemental allocation for Juvenile Justice Education Programs.

This program is evaluated annually by Youth Services Department staff based on a model developed by the Juvenile Justice Educational Enhancement Program. A review will be completed by June 30, 2020.
