A02 - Adoption of Proclamation - Child Abuse Prevention Month, April 2020 (Communications)
The first "Child Abuse Prevention Month" was declared by then President Ronald Reagan in April 1985. The Keeping Kids Safe Partnership's campaign, Pinwheels for Prevention is a collaborative effort of community members dedicated to improving child safety and well-being organized through the leadership of the Children's Board of Hillsborough County. Together with this partnership, Hillsborough County Public Schools works to increase awareness of child abuse, how to stop it, and how to prevent it in our district. Through collaborative efforts among neighbors, community groups, faith based organizations, schools, businesses, law enforcement, the courts, and government agencies in Hillsborough County, we hope to value, nurture, support, and advocate for our children and their well-being.
