Title

B7.04 - Approve the Award of Work Under the Piggybacked Contract #030817-CAR Between Carrier Corporation and Sourcewell (Formerly National Joint Powers Alliance) (NJPA) for Chiller Replacements at Giunta Middle School (Operations Division)

Description

In December, 2019, the Board approved the method of awarding replacement air conditioning equipment to Carrier Corporation utilizing a piggy-back contract between Carrier and Sourcewell when it was in the best interest to the District. Now the Operations Division requests approval for the specific award of two replacement chillers for the Giunta Middle School.

Florida Department of Education (FLDOE) Rule 6A-1.012 allows for purchases from contracts awarded by other government agencies, district school boards, Department of Management Services (DMS), etc., at or below specified prices.

The District recognizes the Sourcewell agreement and staff proposes to utilize the terms and conditions of that agreement in circumstances where the District will realize significantly improved delivery times and pricing on replacement HVAC equipment.
