B7.11 - Approve Appointment of Additional Construction Management Firms for Continuing Service Contracts (Operations Division)
Florida Statutes authorize continuing contracts for professional architectural, engineering and construction management services for projects for which construction costs do not exceed $2,000,000 and for study activities when the fee for such professional services does not exceed $200,000. The Board previously approved continuing contracts for architects and construction managers in 2016 for a maximum five year term. Due to the volume of work generated by the Referendum, additional continuing contracts for construction management services are required.
Florida Statutes and School Board policy outline the process and requirements for selection of architects, engineers, and construction managers. Attachment A summarizes the process. The process provides for the identification of the most highly qualified firms by a Professional Services Selection Committee that includes representatives from several District divisions and the community. Attachment B identifies the committee members who participated in the selection of firms to be awarded Dorothy Thomas Classroom Addition, Liberty Middle Covered Court and Villemaire Transportation Site projects also reviewed and recommended these continuing service contract awards.
In lieu of the ranking of firms, the Committee recommended approval of additional continuing contracts with the firms deemed qualified following the presentations. Recommended firms are listed in Attachment C. Subject to satisfactory performance, each contract shall be in effect through January 11, 2021.
