B7.10 - Red Cross Contract for Meals with Student Nutrition Services (Operations Division)
Contract for meals during an emergency situation where Red Cross would need meals prepared for a natural disaster/hurricane. Contract period would be June 1, 2020, through May 31, 2021. The contract is for one year.
USDA allocates commodities and funds for Student Nutrition Services to use in the event of emergencies. The district provides meals for the Red Cross to distribute to meet the needs of our students and families in Hillsborough County or other counties needing support.
Original contract was approved March 24, 2009, and has been successfully implemented during past terms to provide support and meals to our families in need throughout the district.
Upon approval by the board, we expect our Culinary Kitchen to continue to give quality service under the same terms of the original contract when it was awarded.
The district ensures fiscal responsibility and equitable distribution of resources.

Silo Culinary Kitchen meals/food cost $37,002.82 per day of Federal Funds for one year of renewal. Average daily revenue is $48,300.00.
