C7.01 - Approve Resolution 20-03 for Impact Fee Fund Disbursement from the Hillsborough County Board of County Commissioners for Site Acquisition, Construction and Construction Management of the Middle School at Sumner High School Located at 10650 County Road 672, Riverview, Florida (Operations Division)
In order to support the growing student population in the southern Hillsborough County area, the School Board of Hillsborough County is in the process of constructing Sumner High School containing 2,410 student stations, which is scheduled to open for the 2020/2021 school year. The middle school student stations at Sumner High School will assist in relieving Shields, Barrington, and Eisenhower Middle Schools. This project is reflected in the School Board’s approved 2019/2020 Five Year Facilities Work Program.
Based upon the State of Florida, Department of Education Student Station Cost Factor, which is calculated based upon a project’s opening date, the cost per high school student station is $32,648 x 500 student stations = $16,324,000.00, less the proportionate share mitigation obligations of $4,342,689 = $11,981,311.00, which is the disbursement we are requesting at this time. Upon completion and final close-out of the project, an accounting will be provided to Hillsborough County to document all qualifying expenditures.
