B6.06 - Approve the Cooperative Agreement Between the Agency for Community Treatment Services, Inc. (ACTS) and The School Board of Hillsborough County, Florida (Climate and Culture)

Description

ACTS provides an array of services for dependent and delinquent youth. Hillsborough County Public Schools provides a portable, a dropout prevention teacher, and a teacher's aide to deliver educational services to approximately 20 students who are assigned by the courts to the ACTS residential drug treatment program.

Gap Analysis

ACTS provides treatment services for male and female adolescents who have abused alcohol and/or other drugs while the District provides education and dropout prevention support through onsite teaching staff.

Previous Outcomes

ACTS provides an appropriate site for educational services to be delivered to the students assigned by the court system.

Expected Outcomes

ACTS and the District will work cooperatively to educate, serve, and prepare students to lead responsible and fulfilling lives.

Financial Impact

The education services for this program are funded by full-time equivalency funds. This item is included in the General Fund Supplemental Academic Instruction budget.

Review Comments

This program is evaluated annually by the Student Engagement Department staff based on a model developed by the Juvenile Justice Educational Enhancement Program. This review will be completed by June 30, 2020.
