B7.06 - Approve Florida Autism Center for Excellence Charter School, Tampa, Florida Contract for Meals for Fiscal Year 2020/2021 (Operations Division)  

Florida Autism Center for Excellence has requested a renewal of their contract for meals, both breakfast and lunch, to be claimed under Hillsborough County Student Nutrition Services National Breakfast and Lunch Program for fiscal year 2020/2021. The Silo Culinary Kitchen will prepare and deliver meals daily to Florida Autism and will claim the meals based of family income, free, reduced or paid. All meals will meet federal guidelines set forth by USDA.

Florida Autism is without the means to serve meals under the National meal program for students. Hillsborough County Student Nutrition Services maintains the student meal applications and collaborates with Charter Schools that need this service for their students.

Original contract was approved April 2017 and has been successfully implemented during the past terms to provide breakfast and lunch to this site for their students.

Upon approval by the board, we expect our Culinary Kitchen to continue preparing and delivering quality meals daily as the original contract was awarded.

The district ensures fiscal responsibilities and equitable distribution.
