B6.13 - Approve the Agreement for Technical Services #20106-ATS-IV with Franklin Covey Client Sales Inc.(Franklin Covey), for the Leader in Me Program (LIM) at Mango Elementary (Transformation Network)
The LIM Program is a whole-school transformation model that empowers students with the necessary skills to thrive in the 21st century. The LIM program starts from the premise that every child possesses unique strengths and has the ability to be a leader. It integrates leadership development into existing school programs, curricula, and traditions in a seamless way. This program serves as a foundational operating system for the school, improving relationships, transforming culture, and motivating staff members and students.
Mango Elementary will continue to implement this program during the 2020/2021 school year, beginning with a faculty training scheduled for August 2020. During the third year of implementation, faculty and staff at the school will receive training, materials, online resources, and coaching from the Franklin Covey professional development team. If new teachers are hired mid-year, training will be provided to those teachers at no additional cost.
Mango Elementary is focused on increasing attendance and reducing discipline referrals.
The LIM Program implementation has helped to improve attendance and discipline. Attendance and discipline are key components to keeping students in the classroom and engaged in learning.
Attendance - Percent of students with 90% or higher attendance | Discipline - Percent of students with no suspensions |
2019/2020 87% | 2019/2020 99% |
2018/2019 82% | 2018/2019 98% |
An evaluation using Franklin Covey's Measurable Results Assessment instrument, which includes: student leadership, culture, and environment will be used. Also, district data will be monitored thru the Florida Standards Assessment results; attendance data; and the Action for School Quality Initiative survey responses.
