B7.23 - Property Lease Agreement Between The School Board of Hillsborough County and the Hillsborough Transit Authority a/k/a Hillsborough Area Regional Transit Authority (HART) to Provide Property for School Buses/Fleet Vehicles parking at 16492 South US Highway 301, Wimauma, FL 33598 (Operations Division)

Description

Currently, District school buses are being stored at the Eisenhower/East Bay shared campus facility, creating additional congestion and other traffic circulation-related issues. Due to the shortage of land in South County, the District currently does not have a separate facility for staging and storing vehicles. HART presently has a vacant Park N Ride site, located off South US Highway 301, that could serve as the staging/storing site of these vehicles, alleviating the related congestion at the impacted schools.   

Gap Analysis

Approval of this property lease agreement will provide the District with additional property for the staging and storage of school buses/fleet vehicles.

Previous Outcomes

Current traffic-related issues at Eisenhower/East Bay due to the storage of district school buses/fleet vehicles have created additional congestion at the school sites. 

Expected Outcomes

Improved traffic conditions at Eisenhower/East Bay will provide better circulation for parents, students, and District employees.

Financial Impact

The cost of leasing the HART property is $1.00 and any and all state, county, city, and local taxes that may be due during the term hereof, including any real property taxes.
