B11.02 - Approve the Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers Foundation. (Office of Innovation)

Description

This Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers Foundation will implement educational health and fitness programming including extracurricular activities provided by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, Glazer Family Foundation and affiliate partners.

Through this partnership, our students will participate in supplemental classroom opportunities while engaging in programs and activities that enhance their academic success and experiential learning.  Included are supplemental programming opportunities, which may include Jr. Bucs Program, Flag Football, Turkey Time with the O - Line - Thanksgiving Meals, Art Contest, among others.  Research has shown that working as a team to reach a common goal helps children develop communication and problem-solving skills that will benefit them on the field and the classroom.  

Gap Analysis

Participating school administrators and physical education teachers will be surveyed at the end of each school year to provide feedback, enhancements, and recommendations.

Previous Outcomes

Educational programming support provided to elementary, middle, and K-8 students; Thanksgiving Meals and Vision Mobile, Incentive Support/Philanthropy, Year to date contribution $307,815.

2019/2020 survey results indicated: 92 percent elementary and K-8 schools are participating in the Jr. Bucs Programming, 92 percent elementary physical education teachers find the programming beneficial, 93 percent middle schools are participating in the Flag Football Programming, 96 percent middle school elementary physical education teachers find the programming beneficial.

Expected Outcomes

Engage 96 percent of elementary, middle and K-8 school participation through health and fitness program.  Maintain or improve current survey rate of programming among physical education teachers who acknowledge a benefit to the program.
