School Board Meeting
Title

B7.06 - Approve Interlocal Agreement Between Hillsborough County Public Schools Student Nutrition Services and the Hillsborough County Board of County Commissioners (BOCC) on Behalf of Children Services (Operations Division)

Description

The BOCC has requested a contract for meals on behalf of Children Services. The BOCC is their own sponsor of the National School Breakfast and Lunch Program, but does not have a kitchen to provide meals. They are requesting Hillsborough County Public Schools Student Nutrition prepare and deliver meals to their students who are located on the same property as Dorothy Thomas School. The BOCC will file their own claim for these students. All meals will meet USDA guidelines.  It has been requested that the School Board be the first signer on this contract.

Gap Analysis

The BOCC is without the means to prepare meals at this said location. Hillsborough County Public Schools has a culinary kitchen at Silo Bend and has the means to prepare and deliver meals. Hillsborough County Public Schools Student Nutrition will invoice the BOCC for these meals every month.

Previous Outcomes

Hillsborough County Public Schools has an Interlocal Agreement with the BOCC dated 2013, and has successfully delivered meals to the BOCC's programs in the past.

Expected Outcomes

Upon approval by the Board, we expect our Student Nutrition Services' Culinary Kitchen to continue preparing and delivering quality meals daily as the original contract was awarded.

Strategic Plan Goal

The District ensures fiscal responsibility and equitable distribution.

Recommendation

Approve the Interlocal Agreement between Hillsborough County Public Schools Student Nutrition Services and the BOCC on behalf of Children's Services.
