Title

C11.04R -  Approve the School Security Risk Assessment Findings and Recommendations Accepted As Presented In Executive Session on October 19, 2020 (Operations Division)

Description

The purpose of this agenda item is to present the findings and recommendations of the School Security Risk Assessments completed for each public school, both traditional and charter.  These assessments are intended for use by Hillsborough County Public Schools (HCPS) to assist officials in identifying threats, vulnerabilities, and appropriate safety controls for the schools they supervise.

The findings and recommendations are populated into the Florida Safe Schools Assessment Tool District Safety and Security Assessment (FSSAT) conducted by HCPS.  These results must be presented to the School Board to assist HCPS in meeting the requirements for school safety and security as outlined in the 2018 Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School Public Safety Act (MSDHSPSA) (SB 7026) and the 2019 Implementation of Legislative Recommendations of the Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School Public Safety Commission (SB 7030).

These findings were presented in closed executive session, as these topics relate to the safety and security of our students and staff.
