SUBJECT / RECOMMENDATIONS
Review and Approve the Proposed 2017-2018 Student Code of Conduct that was Previously Embedded in the Student Handbook
EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
In an effort for the district to be more efficient and develop a communication tool that best meets the needs of our stakeholders, we will transition the Student Code of Conduct and Student Handbook information into a web format.  A communication plan has been developed to ensure that the transition to web is adequately communicated to families and staff.

The Student Code of Conduct is designed to inform parents and students of their rights and responsibilities at school, provide expectations for student behavior, and set a standard for providing all students with an environment conducive to learning.

Hillsborough County Public Schools must adopt a Student Code of Conduct, and make available for review with all stakeholders at the beginning of every school year (F.S 1006.07(2) Code of Student Conduct).
STRATEGIC OBJECTIVES
• Develop a culture of respect, trust, and collaboration • Engage and communicate with families and stakeholders • Continuously improve processes and systems • Demonstrate "best practices" in all aspects of safety: student, employee, visitor, facility, transportation, and health
