SUBJECT / RECOMMENDATIONS
Approve the 2015-16 Energy Conservation Report, Energy Mentor Incentives, and School Incentives and Penalties
EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
The following annual Energy Conservation report for SY15-16 demonstrates the District’s conservation efforts. During this period, energy consumption was further reduced. The District’s electrical consumption per square foot dropped from 12.50 kWh/sqft in SY14-15, to 12.10 kWh/sqft for SY15-16. This decrease represents approximately a 2.82 percent drop in usage over last year.

Also included in the report is an update on the thermal energy storage (ice) plants.  These plants now continue to avoid electrical costs of approximately $295,863 annually.  This amount represents savings over conventional chilled water systems that require larger chillers.  To date, these plants have avoided at least $1,232,614 in electrical costs.
STRATEGIC OBJECTIVES

FINANCIAL IMPACT (Budgeted:  No)
