SUBJECT / RECOMMENDATIONS
Approve the Agreement for Technical Services with Chess Nut Society, LLC, to Teach Chess Strategies for Staff Associated with the Hillsborough Out-of-Schools Time (HOST) Program (Academic Support and Federal Programs Division)
EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
Chess Nut Society, LLC, will provide HOST staff training, coaching support, materials, and resources necessary to provide HOST elementary students with chess skills, which foster academic success and positive youth development.  This program will be implemented in approximately 80 sites for the 2017/2018 school year.

FINANCIAL IMPACT (Budgeted:  Yes)
Funds in the amount of $12,840 will be available in the HOST budget.  For tracking purposes, the project number specific to this agenda item is 4302.  As of August 23, 2017, the remaining balance less encumbrances for this line item equaled $6,469,473.76.
EVALUATION
Annual parent and HOST staff satisfaction surveys will be conducted and results shared with schools, Hillsborough County Public Schools, or designee.
